FOUNDER OF THE TRUST
A.P. ARUL JOTHI
Thiru A.P. Arul Jothi was the only Son of Thiru. A.V. Palanisamy Gounder. He was a Grand Landlord and also, he was an enlightened man of social awareness. He always thought of the poor and common man’s upliftment. He had conducted many social dramas to educate and eradicate the social evils in the society. Thiru A.V. Palanisamy Gounder was a member of erstwhile Coimbatore District Board. He had helped many poor people in the field of education.
Thiru A.V. Palanisamy Gounder also founded a metal worker’s Co-operative society at Anupparpalayam and helped the workers to free from the Bonded Labour. He won the affection of all metal workers and he continued as President till his last breath. After his father, A.P. Arul Jothi was elected as successive president.
Thiru. A.P. Arul Jothi was inspired by the deeds of his father and wanted to remember his parents forever. So, he established a Trust in his father’s name A.V.P. TRUST., and in his mother’s name A.V.P. LAKSHMI AMMAL TRUST. He was the founder chairman of both the trust. Thiru A.P. Arul Jothi was a village Munsif of Chettipalayam in his younger days. He won all partymen’s affection. He was also elected as the President of Chettipalayam Panchayat and worked for the welfare of the people.
A.V.P. TRUST started a National Matriculation Higher Secondary School in its garden on the Ring Road of Aathupalayam which lies behind the Thirumuruganpoondi temple in 1989. Now this school has been growing up with good strength and flourished as one the best Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Tirupur.
A.V.P. LAKSHMI AMMAL TRUST started a school for the benefit of specially disabled children with hearing impaired and speaking impaired. Many Children surrounding this place are benefited.
Thiru A.P. ARUL JOTHI also started another school, A.V.P. TRUST National Matriculation School in its garden in Angeripalayam, Gandhinagar, Tirupur. Now pupils are given admission from Pre KG to X Standard.
In deeds of his father, present chairman Mr. A. Karthikeyan, started A.V.P. Trust Public school under CBSE laid its foundation in the field of education under the same banner in the academic year 2011 -2012 and to cater for higher education in the name of A.P. Arul Jothi Educational Trust , A.V.P College of Arts & Science (Affiliated to Bharathiyar University) was started in the academic year 2015 -16 at Aathupalayam, T.M.Poondi.
